WHY I CHOSE MAN UTD?

I am proud to be even called Red devils among my friends in the streets and in the college cafeteria and class rooms. The word GGMU even used as good morning symbol to me by my friends churns in my mind for years. I started watching football since I was a child. The football was always in my mind rather other boys playing marbles of my age.

 

WHY I CHOSE MAN UTD?

Before I bore, Sir Alex Ferguson, the Scottish man handling the united as great manager & sill  he leads united to make it glorious. I have been United fan since I saw David Beckham in Manchester United. The English midfielder showed his great football at old Trafford. The handsome guy, English man make me believe Red Devils is king of the Europe. Rio Ferdinand &  Gary Neville, great defending man, Paul Scholes & Nicky Butt who played at midfield Oh! it's so amazing !! Such  a strong squad  I never saw before.

For United  Rivalries its not easy to defeat Red at old Trafford. They performed artistic football at old Trafford with strong confidence no matter against whom they paly. I seem Old Trafford  as a heaven. Red isn't color only its blood too which circulated on my vein.

Ryan Giggs who born for united ,played 601 games for United since 1991.

Wayne Rooney & Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo, the great combination between them. However Ronaldo was sold to Madrid in 2009 although I Can't forget him.

Now, the Current squad with Rooney, Nani, Berbatove; the Bulgarian who score three hat-trick in a single season i.e. 2010-2011.

My favourite player Javier Hernandez, Mexican boy seems a next Ronaldo for United. Every United Player seems to good.

 

Guessing what Manchester United is?

 

Manchester United Football Club is the prominent English professional football club, based in Old Trafford, that plays in the Premier League. Popularly kept a distinguished image as Newton Heath LYR Football Club before 1902, formed in 1878 and moved to Old Trafford in 1910. The club has been playing in the top division of English football since 1975. Manchester United, also widely known as the Red Devils, was the first English football club to win the European Cup with over 330 million supporters worldwide. One of the most successful clubs English and European Football history till today, Manchester boasts 18 league titles, 11 FA Cups ,3 UEFA Champions Leagues, and 1 Intercontinental Cup & 1 FIFA Club World Cup. Manchester United is one of the wealthiest and most widely supported football teams in the world. The club is said to be worth £1.19 billion, making it the most valuable football club in the world. After being floated on the London Stock Exchange in 1991, the club was purchased by Malcolm Glazer, owner  in May 2005 in a deal valuing the club at almost £800 million.

 

The team initially played games against other departments and rail companies, but on 20 November 1880, they competed in their first recorded match; wearing the colours of the railway company – green and gold – they were defeated 6–0 by Bolton Wanderers reserve team. By 1888, the club had become a founding member of The Combination, a regional football league. However, following the league's suspension after just one season, Newton Heath joined the newly formed Football Alliance, which ran for three seasons before being merged with the Football League. This resulted in the club starting the 1892–93 season in the First Division by which time it had become independent of the rail company and dropped the "LYR" from its name. After just two seasons, the club was relegated to the Second Division.  Officially, , Manchester United was born On 24 April 1902.In 1906 United promoted  to the First Division & won the first club's league title in 1908 .The following season began with victory in the first ever Charity Shield and ended with the club's first FA Cup title. Manchester United won the First Division for the second time in 1911. During First world War, united relegated to the Second Division till 1925 & relegated again in 1931. Before the end of Second World War, the club was 14th in the First Division.

 

After second world war Busby had  led the team  to second-place league finished in 1947, 1948 and 1949, and to FA Cup victory in 1948. In 1952, the club won the First Division, its first league. United won their first division trophy for 18^th time in following season, 1907–08, 1910–11, 1951–52, 1955–56, 1956–57, 1964–65, 1966–67, 1992–93, 1993–94, 1995–96, 1996–97, 1998–99, 1999–2000, 2000–01, 2002–03, 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008–09 & they won second division league for two times in 1935–36, 1974–75. On other hand they were handed FA cup For 11th times, league cup 4^th time, FA Charity/Community Shield18^th time (14 outright, 4 shared)

Sir Alex Ferguson ,the Scottish man & former Scottish footballer  is great manager for united since 1986. 1998–99 season was the most successful in English club football history for Unted & Ferguson too. He is the one who won  the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League – "The Treble" – in the same season. In December 2008, the club won the 2008 FIFA Club World Cup and &  League Cup in 2006–07, 2007–08, 2008;  third successive Premier League title. That summer, Cristiano Ronaldo was sold to Real Madrid for a world record £80 million. After that Ferguson is named as best United Manager & best Premier League Manager. Fegie is  second  longest serving manager for United.

Old Trafford                               

United present   ground is Old Trafford (Theatre of Dreams), located in Sir Matt Busby Way ,Greater Manchester. It was Constructed  with cost £90,000  in 1909 & opened  in 19 February 1910 having 75,957 capacity.

Jerseys

From 1878 to 1902, the club's shirts were green and gold halves. When the was renamed Manchester United in 1902, the staff also changed the jerseys, abandoning the green and gold halves of Newton Heath, and picking red and white as new colours, red is home jersey, white is away & black is third jersey.

United Legends

Sir Bobby Charlton,awarded from  Footballer of the Year1966 & Footballer of the Year 1966. George Best, awarded with European Player of the Year1968 & Footballer of the Year 1968. Dennis Law, Roy Keane, awarded by Footballer of the Year 2000 & Players' Player of the Year 2000. All of them were great legend for united. Ryan Giggs, another legend who played 601 game for United & still playing .

United played 23 game in this season & top on league table with 51 points. Red Devils ready for lifting the trophy for 19^th time. As being a red devils fan I'm wishing for united  victory to make it 19^th.

Van der Sar keen to end on a high

Manchester United goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar wants at least one more piece of silverware before he retires.

The veteran former Holland goalkeeper has confirmed he will hang up his gloves at the age of 40 at the end of this season to spend more time with his family.

"It's not finished, there are still three months to go so we are still aiming for something more. Which (trophy) doesn't really matter, that's the thing you aim for and I hope that materialises in the end," Van der Sar said.

"There are a couple of things to consider - whether you still have an appetite for it, your family. You also have to look at yourself and ask if you can bring that top level of performance that you need at United.

"I'm happy with my form and the things I achieved on the pitch but you can't be like a superman into your 40s."

Great Experience

His five-and-a-half years at Old Trafford have brought 245 appearances to date, including 174 in the Premier League. this season he has made 21 Barclays Premier League appearances for the Red Devils.

The keeper played a crucial role for united helping them to three successive Barclays Premier League titles from 2007 to 2009 and Champions League success in 2008, when he decisively saved from Nicolas Anelka in a penalty shoot-out win over Chelsea in Moscow.

He discussed the issue with manager Sir Alex Ferguson before making his decision, and continued: "It's been coming for a while, it's been a mutual decision and an agreement this was the last (season). I've always treated it like my last year because you never know what is coming.

"When I initially came here I was just happy to sign a two-year contract and try to win a league before I retired. Luckily I was able to achieve a little bit more than that and also prolong it for a little bit longer than two years.

"It would have been nice to have a few years longer here but that's life - you don't always get what you want at the right time. I am just happy that at least we got to come together and experience a good few years.

"It's been nice, it's been a great experience - even at my age - to be at a club as big as United. It's just been a joy."

Astonished by Art

Images and paint churn in my mind, sometimes I think I can’t get away and sit at the desk and ask myself, am I somehow addicted to literature and the arts? I am astonished by the Nepalese arts when I meet people who think their lives as literature and the so called thing called art.

Contemporary art in Nepal has a tradition: artists with name and connection are at the forefront on the basis of relations rather than creative quality, this has been a bad backdrop for Nepali arts. Nepali artists find themselves attached to people and knowing them personally rather than artwork and creativity.

And it is interesting when you are in front of the biggest canvas ever bought and painted in Kathmandu: abstract abstraction or subjectivity? Ideas come into your mind and drone on. Art is a “light” a brightness that fosters aesthetic and intellectual growth. As a corollary, the longer the history of the artwork the more refined the aesthetics and higher the intellectual development of people involved.

In this context, the history of Nepalese modern art doesn’t date back very far. So in some ways we have neither the higher intellect nor in some ways an adequate understanding of the arts as an audience. Owing to this, Nepali criticism is still nascent and leaves much to be desired. So it was amazing when I was recently faced the biggest of canvases in Nepal, I was faced by paint and color and shapes, fundamentals of expression rather than the expression of the artist. I was struck by subjective views not only the opinion and approach of the artist.

It was Pallav Ranjan, beside me, with acrylic on plates and buckets and brushes and knives and spoons. The vibrant colors flowing non-layered. The shapes were simple, alluring, and making an effort to get your attention. Is a woman’s gaze different from a man’s? How does gender difference influence the way in which two different these things are viewed: temperament of the presentation or the subject’s real nature? I was really attracted by the second panel of this gigantic project. It was the media section of the canvas. There was a period when people had to go through intermediaries like newspaper or broadcasting medias like radio and television.

This reminds the times when even artists had to go to newspapers begging their largesse for the publication of their arts. Now time has changed. The internet speaks all over the world and those who cannot communicate or keep in touch with the media or have connection only can go through the net and reach out to the world themselves. The media opportunity shown or painted in the canvas by Pallav speaks thus, the canvas holds the biggest strength in this. The eye in the painting seem to see me and with the ear I am given the ability to hear tunes: multimedia involves the interplay of visual elements, with text (e-books), sound (music) and more recently even feel and smell (3 and 4-d technologies).

Some aspects of multimedia may be interactive and include movement. This is how the biggest canvas in Nepal comes through. For me, this panel is a showcase of connection between multimedia, the internet, and the written word. It is something that can make a buzz amongst every viewer, even the most ordinary.

Even on my first examination, it was obvious that the work had high artistic value. Its surface was on the whole in smoothly finished on due to the careful custody of Ranjan. Retouches were apparent in places, mainly in the background, with some scratches at the edges of the canvas, but after careful study, and yet this was not the finished product I learned.

Pallav a true and an honest artist living for arts and literature in Nepal. He remembers and smiles saying that 54 feet by 8 feet is a long surface to be looking at especially when the canvas is blank and you are the artist and he had had a similar situation while painting “Sun on the Mountains,” a book Netherlands Consulate brought out to celebrate their involvement in Nepal for twenty-five years.

Pallav’s latest art project which I have viewed with astonishment will portray e-opportunies… and online trading on a single 60 x 8 foot canvas at CAN InfoTech to be held on coming February. The display which may be viewed by 300,000 people has been understood and supported by e-commerce site muncha.com in order to assure that it has wide access.
